Dear Parents,

The 5^th and 6^th grades are preparing for their end-of-year field trips. Permission slips have already been sent home; however, if you did not receive a copy, you can print one at home from vikingnet.org.  Click on “Mackinaw Trail Middle School” and then the appropriate field trip under “Announcements.”  You can also call the office to request another form if you do not have access to a printer at home.  The permission slips have valuable information regarding the trips. Students DO need to be eligible for these trips.  IF they are failing two or more classes or if they have had chronic behavior issues, they will NOT be allowed to attend.  You will be notified next week (week of May 21^st) if this impacts your son or daughter. 

The current 4^th grade students will be coming to visit MTMS; the visit dates are listed on the calendar.  Each elementary school will spend about two hours touring, visiting, practicing locker combinations, having lunch and experiencing “The Middle School Difference.”  

When the weather warms up and days are longer, it can be increasingly difficult for children of all ages to adhere to bedtimes.  Tired middle-schoolers can mean cranky middle-schoolers, so please do your part to ensure they have a successful day!  I would encourage you to practice consistent bedtimes as we still start at 7:40 am!
